ESG: Sustainability Leadership Program
SME-Rise: Посилення спроможності МСП для відповідальних ринків
The Association of Sustainable Development Experts (ASDE), in partnership with DTEK Academy, delivers the ESG: Sustainability Leadership Program—a comprehensive executive education program designed for managers and professionals responsible for integrating sustainability principles and ESG practices into their organizations.
The program is based on the methodology of The Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) and is aimed at developing practical competencies in ESG, corporate governance, sustainable finance, risk management, sustainability reporting, and strategic business transformation.
Since its launch, the program has successfully completed two cohorts, bringing together representatives of leading Ukrainian companies, financial institutions, public sector organizations, and international institutions, including DTEK, Deloitte, PUMB, PrivatBank, UKRGASBANK, Fozzy Group, Nibulon, Eterna Law, and the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, among others.
Graduates of the program have gained practical tools for assessing ESG risks, developing sustainability strategies, preparing corporate sustainability reports, engaging effectively with stakeholders, and implementing internationally recognized ESG standards within their organizations.
Initiators
The program addresses the evolving challenges facing businesses in the context of Ukraine's European integration, post-war recovery, and the increasing expectations of investors and international financial institutions.
Key Objectives of the Program

Основними завданнями Програми є:
Developing Practical ESG CompetenciesTo equip executives and professionals with the knowledge and practical skills required to implement sustainability principles through internationally recognized approaches to ESG management, risk assessment, corporate governance, sustainability reporting, and sustainable finance.
Integrating ESG into Strategic Business ManagementTo provide participants with practical tools for embedding ESG into corporate decision-making processes, strengthening organizational resilience, enhancing investment attractiveness, and ensuring alignment with international standards and best practices.
Three Cohorts of the ESG: Sustainability Leadership Program
First Cohort(14 November - 14 March)
The first cohort of the ESG: Sustainability Leadership Program marked the launch of a joint educational initiative by DTEK Academy and the Association of Sustainable Development Experts (ASDE), aimed at developing a new generation of Ukrainian business leaders capable of integrating sustainability principles into corporate governance and strategic planning.
About the ProgramThe program consisted of eight modules combining international expertise with practical case studies from Ukrainian businesses. Participants worked on ESG risk assessment, sustainability strategy development, corporate governance systems, sustainability reporting, and stakeholder engagement.The faculty included leading Ukrainian and international experts, including representatives of IFC, certified GRI trainers, and sustainability practitioners.
Second Cohort(27 March - 4 July)
The second cohort became a natural continuation of the program's development, focusing on strengthening the professional competencies of executives and specialists implementing ESG as a driver of long-term business competitiveness.
Particular attention was devoted to integrating sustainability principles into corporate strategy in the context of Ukraine's European integration, economic transformation, and post-war recovery.
About the ProgramParticipants completed eight practical modules covering ESG risks, corporate governance, sustainable finance, climate-related business issues, international reporting, stakeholder engagement, and the practical implementation of ESG strategies.The program combined lectures by Ukrainian and international experts, practical business case studies, collaborative teamwork, and peer learning. The curriculum was delivered using the CISL methodology together with GRI materials and the IFC ESG Leadership Program methodology.
Third Cohort(starting July 8)
The third cohort is designed to help Ukrainian businesses move beyond understanding ESG toward its practical implementation as a strategic tool for business development, risk management, and investment attraction.
The program is intended for executives as well as HR, finance, ESG, and sustainability professionals seeking to integrate sustainability principles into their organizations' business models and prepare them for today's evolving challenges.
